Default Any trans shop recommendations in OC area?

Hi All,

Well it finally happened, 2 days ago my trans started whining like all hell. Successfully diagnosed the issue as the #9 bearing is fried. as of today the trans is slipping like crazy and slapping into gears............04 Screw 5.4 2wd, 127k miles

Does anyone know of any good trans shops in the OC california area +/- 50 or so miles? And can anyone give me an idea of what i should expect to pay?

Im debating a local shop rebuild or just going for a full remanufactured one if i can find one for the right price. prices seem to vary GREATLY from shop to shop and i am looking for someone with a good reputation.

Thanks!

How would you Diagnose it to a specific bearing... without tearing it down.

There is an AAMCO off of the 55 and McFadden in Santa Ana. Owned and worked by a father and son. I believe the sons name is Chris and he is excellent. They also do free diagnoses right now. I took my truck there and they were amazing. My dad then took his Beemer there and they treated him great too. I would highly recommend them.

Extensive Research, ford tsb's, and a snap on scanner.

It's a very well known common issue.
