Have a customer that comes to our shop every now and then with a Tacoma that he built a custom aluminum flat bed for and it actually looks bad ***. It's shaped to match the lines of the body really well but it's just so damn small lol. Even thought it's a small bed I guess being flat it gives him a lot more useable space. Found his truck on google

That one is pretty badass. It has to have the right look to pull it off. I would think it would be pretty easy to make one look really redneckish.
