Any help appreciated 06 f150
So i was driving down a hill braking a little and the front drivers side tire started to grind so i stopped parked it and left it there for a little bit and then i went to take it back to my house and the grinding continued the brakes weren't locked or anything so i thought it might have something to do with the four wheel drive so i switched it into dour high and the grinding stopped i reversed into a driveway and something made a noise and it jerked the car so bad it felt like someone hit my truck while driving home still in four wheel drive i couldn't turn the steering wheel very far right and it sounded like it was rubbing on the wheel well but the tire was no where close to it just bought it a month ago and i dont know if this could have caused any thing to do with the problem but it had rained a lot the night before and on my way to work in the morning and i had to drive through a flooded street (the only way in and out to the building where i had to go) the water was pretty high like i said any help is appreciated thank you

When you are in 4 Hi or 4 Lo mode, the front wheels have a reduced turning radius because the CV joints on the front axle half shafts will bind during sharp turns. The grinding noise could be a wheel bearing. Do you feel the grinding come up through the steering wheel?

Could be wheel bearing/hub assembly or half shaft. Or possibly you have a vacuum leak which would cause the hub to not fully disengage. I've heard people having problems with water getting into the vent vacuum line then hubs not fully disengaging. Have you checked the vacuum lines connecting to the hubs?

Probably the wheel bearing.

It could be a wheel bearing, but I would go through the IWE system to make sure the hubs aren't trying to lock in first.

You might need both the hub and the iwe actuator. It's likely that some water got sucked into the iwe and wrecked it. Unfortunately since it was grinding pretty bad, that could have caused the hub to strip out also. The only real way to know is to take that side apart to get a good look.
This is the first one that caught my eye when I searched on Google for the iwe actuator: http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=161086255209
