Hey guys, 05 FX4 all stock, bought it about 6 mo ago and, it rides soo damn sh*tty, im almost discusted it rides like i have a loaded trailer hooked on, you can feel every bump, it feels like the rear is stiffer then the front, Is it the shocks?? or the leaf springs? honestly it rides worse then my 1 ton work truck! Id love to loosen' it up.. aftermarket shocks?? or ?? I know the FX4 package has the off road suspension but who takes a 35,000$ truck off road in order to use this package that much??! I do more in the city hwy traveling then anything off road, and its just way to hard of a ride for daily use.. any thought? or has any 1 did something to loosen there FX4 up? Love the truck but this suspension has me turned off..also if i change the shocks will this affect my ride height? i just ordered a 2 inch leveling kit for the front too level everything out, and i dont want to have the front higher then the rear is i change the suspenion to a better ride!? thanks!!!
Shocks in the rear may help out your ride quality. The bilstein 5100's are a great shock and we can get a lighter valving on them for a better softer ride. The shocks will not effect your ride height and the 2" spacer will not make the front end sit higher.
What kind of tires you have on it? Check your tire pressures. Some idiot probably has them pumped to max inflation. Run the back tires 5-10 psi lower than the front.

Somethings wrong? My truck is no caddy, but I think the ride is great! Check the suspension if the tire thing didn't work out or maybe a blown shock? good luck.

I take mine off road least once a week. That is why I got the FX4. If you have a 4x4 is gonna drive like one. The chevy's have a more "car" ride to them in all models. If you are going to level it, maybe see if the Billstein's help with softening your ride....dunno.

+1 mine rides fine on the street for a truck if you want something to ride like a caddy check this out its my buddies truck.
It is not just tires, it is the entire setup of the truck. FX4 "off road package" is more than rims and gauge cluster. You should have gotten the lariat and switched the gauges and rims. You might want to talk to a shop and see if a different set up of suspension is going to quell your issues with the 4x4 suspension. There might be several options for altering the suspension involving alterations of the setup and types used.
