Default Another tire/rim question

Hey guys im lookin at getting new aftermarket rims n tires before winter. My current set up is stock 18 rims with 275/70/18s, 3" level on the front and 1.5" block in the rear. The rims im looking at are 17x8 +18 offset and 5.15" backspacing. The tires im leaning towards are BFG AT KOs 315/70/17. I originally was looking into 285/70/17 but they convert to 32.6 (i dont really want to go smaller then i already have).
So the question is, do any of you guys have the 315/70/17? Any rubbing issues? And also, will i need to regear with these tires?

Bshipe22 has a similar setup to what you describe. I have that size on my 4wd. What gears do you have now? I did regear with mine, but mainly for towing purposes. I had 3.55s and it didn't do well with a 6000 pound camper and the bigger tires.

If my memory is correct i have 3.55. I dont do any towing, if anything its just hauling furniture or stuff for the yard (dirt, retaining wall blocks, etc)

That size is usually at least d rated, which makes them quite a bit heavier. Worse case scenario if you have to regear, being 2wd, it will be less expensive than if you were 4wd.
