Question Another CAI question...

Long time lurker, first time poster. Tried archives, no luck. Question is, my truck's Streetboss package came with a roush tuned computer. Not sure what all was involved. Anyone know anything about this tune? Does it make the engine CAI safe? Dealer doesn't seem to know much about it and it was their perf pack. If not, will start with Gotts mod.

I'm not positive so someone correct me if I'm wrong here:

If you're truck came w/ a CAI installed, and a roush flash, more than likely your MAF is tuned for that CAI, something most of us pay for (PHP, SCT Livewire, other handheld tuners). It doesnt make it safer, just more efficient.

I've done quite a god damn many mods to my 'stang and about to start modding my truck now. Some CAI''s are designed to be able to work within the limits of your stock ECM tune while still adding to power and efficiency while others flow too much and require a re-tune because they confuse the MAF. Your best bet is to call the manufacturer and ask them directly if the one you want requires a new tune. Either way, getting a tune will maximize potential. It's all in how much you want to spend

Thanks for the replies, for now I'll stick with a Gotts mod and see if I can learn more about this Roush flash.
