Default Another 4x4 problem

As the title says my 4 wheel drive is not working on my 06. I replaced the actuator under the hood with the upgraded part, I'm pretty sure the transfer case is engaging because it creeps like it should in low lock and the 4x4 light comes on in hi an low. Is it possible for both wheel hubs to be bad?

"under the hood"? The part behind the battery, on the firewall? That's the solenoid.

Have you been through the trouble shooting procedures?

Yeah, the vacuum is holding I checked that already, so I guess its the IWE's at the wheels. From what I have been reading on here alot of people have had to replace both sides at the same time.

Yes. If the half shaft[s] isn't turning in 4x4 high or low I suspect something more serious than the IWEs.

Well the other day i got the truck stuck and took the opportunity to see if the IWE's were bad. I put it in 4Hi and only one axle shaft in the front was spinning on the passenger side, drivers side did not move at all. So I guess my question is, are both axle shafts suppose to turn?

I ordered a new Actuator today from Tasca. I hope this fixes my problem.

Never mind I found the answer I was looking for on another site. Hope this helps some one as it did me.

"so with the open diff taking the path of least resistance that half shaft will spin when in 4WD and the other, even though it works, will not do anything. No 4WD".

Ahhh. You are talking about the "limited slip" function. I thought you were asking about "up on jack stands trouble shooting". Sorry. The limited slip works on front and rear the same...why a a lot of serious off roaders add locker systems.

You never clearly explained what the actual symptom/problem was in the OP.

Yeah, I guess I could have been more clear....but the important thing is I solved the problem. Thanks for the input though.
