I have so many questions I'm not sure where to start haha. Ill try to just ask as I go along. Right now it's looking like I'll be starting this project in a couple of weeks. First task is yanking the engine from the Navigator (bought a whole wrecked Navi), then start the swap in my truck.

1. If you had the wiring info on the TB that would be awesome. This would save me from hunting down a 5.0 to check the wiring on it. What gets me is the fact that the TPS has 4 wires. I'm a diesel mechanic and am used to mostly 3 wire sensors. Maybe you can elaborate?

2. Does the ECU have to be recalibrated for the 5.0 TB? Or does it just plug and play

3. Regarding the ECU. From what I gather you are still using the 5.4 3v ECU? If so, how is it now in wasted spark mode? How did you get it to read a 4v cam sensor? And what benefit is there to go to the 4.6 ECU? I have a guy here in town that tunes Mod motor Fords willing to tune my truck but he's never done a 3v to 4v tune like this.

4. My truck is a single cab 2wd Flare Side with 3.73 so maybe I won't feel the lack of torque as much. That being said, I would still like it better if I could run the regular 5.0 intake but looking at the engine bay it doesn't look like an alternator relocation will be simple and easy.

5. Fuel rail. I'm guessing you removed all the flexible hose from the rail, then slid new, longer hose to both ends and used hose clamps to secure the hose? That's what I was thinking of doing.

Let me know when you're ready to sell the Boss intake. I'm definitely interested. I'm still gonna look into an alternator relocation, but I'm not sure I'm up to the task.

Sounds great. I've thought about this swap on and off again. No complaints about the 3v but still, I've liked the idea. Again looking good, I'll be keeping this in mind for the future.

what a sweet engine swap. I wonder how well a new 5.0 coyote motor would fit into that generation.

It's basically just combining a 4 wire motor and a 2 wire sensor into one plug. I can email you the wiring diagram.

Plug and play

3. Regarding the ECU. From what I gather you are still using the 5.4 3v ECU? If so, how is it now in wasted spark mode? How did you get it to read a 4v cam sensor? I'm still using the 3v ecu. It doesn't read the cam sensor. They are disabled. This is why it is in waste spark mode. It doesn't know if the engine is on the exhaust or intake stroke so it fires on both. The 4.6 has the same cam sensing method as the 4v so it can read the one cam sensor without issue.

4. My truck is a single cab 2wd Flare Side with 3.73 so maybe I won't feel the lack of torque as much. That being said, I would still like it better if I could run the regular 5.0 intake but looking at the engine bay it doesn't look like an alternator relocation will be simple and easy.

I'm working on this part with my supercharger Install. I'll keep you posted.

5. Fuel rail. I'm guessing you removed all the flexible hose from the rail, then slid new, longer hose to both ends and used hose clamps to secure the hose? That's what I was thinking of doing.
Exactly.

Will do.

I know this is off the wall but does anyone happen to know where the two longer bell housing bolts go on the 4r75e transmission. The motor is a 5.4. Thanks!

This is beautiful! I have a few questions myself, as I'm wanting to swap my 3v to a 4v myself. Without the Boss manifold, what would you say is needed for just making it a 4V?

Side note: The Boss Manifold for the 2011+ Mustang GT isn't designed for low end torque. Its meant to be revved high and to stay in the high RPM powerband.

You need a DBW compatible intake. Meaning you need an intake you can bolt an electronic throttle body to.

Yes i know what the intake was designed for. However it is the only one that clears the factory alternator.

But couldn't I bolt any throttle body to any intake, as long as the bolts fit? How come the intake needs changing just to add a valve?
