Hello to all. This is my 1st post on here. I have done the search on a few forums. I see that a CAI will make your engine run lean. I have a 07 F150 Larait SuperCab 4x4 5.4 Flex. I bought the Airaid CAI and TBS to put on when I get home. Does'nt the truck use the MAS to tell the computer how much air is coming in and to adjust the fuel dilivery to it? This truck has to last me for along time. Now I know some guys will think this is blasfamy, I am more concerned about fuel milage than performance. I do drive with a light foot. I am planning on getting a Edge Evo programmer. Oh I did also buy the Fitch Fuel Catalyst to put on also. Thanks for any help. SSG C Iraq.

yes it will run lean but let the guys at troyer performance talk to you they are the best for our trucks they will tune it so it wont run lean but you need to talk to them

If these things make our trucks run lean then why don't we here more about problams with them. Also I live in Colorado at 6000 Ft. Any diference here. Oh does the MAS help at all

I live in denver and have the airaid cia and an edge chip. I havent had any problems and lover the intake. I had the spacer for about a week but it was a joke i lost power and was only getting 12 mpg. I now get 17 without it. If i were you i wouldnt put the spacer on.

OK, still tring to find out about the Mass Airflow Sensor. If the truck starts to run lean from to much air intake. Wont the computer with info from the MAS adjust the fuel to correct the lean problam? Tanner I live in Colorado Springs. I amke the trip to Denver about once a month to go to Bass Pro Shops. Can't wait for the Cabelas to open.

The truck can only adjust so far.

TruckU on Speed Channel did an episode on this awhile back. They added a cold air intake, along with a cat back exhaust system. The PCM (power control module) box will "learn" the improvements, and no, the system will not run lean.

They (TruckU) said that if you were too impatient for the system to learn the new setup, disconnect the negative battery cable; wait about 5 minutes, and re-connect. This clears the PCM, and forces it to relearn upon startup and a 10 minute drive.

The myths continue....sigh.

Thanks for the replys guys. I have been reading the forum since I found it, and have just started posting. I also ask Airaid they set me back an email saying the same thing. That they have done extensive testing and it will not cause the engine to run lean.

So if the Air Aid makes our trucks run lean whats the point in making something thats going to be bad for the truck.The point in having fuel injection is to make it more fuel effiecent and better power.The system will copensate for the more air coming throw the intake. I dont it will run lean from the AirAid.

i talked to a guy at troyer performance and he is the one that said it will cause it to run lean please look them up and give them a call about it the are f150 forum supporter and they are world class everyone that i have worked with on my truck says they are the best i had dynatech long tube headers put on with the airraid and had them do the tuner i also had the edge on my truck and that only touches 6 of the 419 settings for our truck now i wont lie im no mechahanic but i have been building up this truck i have with a couple of people and have learned some stuff along the way i will say the lean thing was new to me but i have had it on a dyno before and after and wow edge has nothing on this group you have to call them they are great they really are
