Kinda defeats the purpose of a 'NEW' filter, but maybe if you hold the two up together and mark all the way around you could shave the K & N down to fit. Would suck, but might make it work. I'm with motomx12, mine fit after a little work ligning up everything.

Yup. My K&N was a simple drop in.........

Could be a case of wrong part in box.... But being that he's tried 3 different new filters I doubt it..... If the center housing goes in all the way just pull down on the snaps, you won't hurt the housing unless you a beating on them with a hammer.......(or it's really really cold outside.....)

Yeah, im gonna go buy it again and try it. I really dont want to shave off any of the outside of the rubber seal cause i dont want any air to escape unfiltered.

Cody,
I did do that, I stated that at the first when i posted my problem. All the filters i tried (K&N, STP, and Fram) were all the same size at the rubber seal and were all bigger than the older filter. The last time the filter was changed was at during a oil change in the past at Wally world. It is orange and looks just like the Fram i tried but is smaller by 1/4 in and fits perfectly.
