Air Condioner Problem??
I have an '05 Supercrew, Lariat that I bought about 3 weeks ago and am having an issue with the air conditioner. It seems that when I start the truck and leave it in "Park" (trying to cool it before I get in) the air condioner does not work. I know i'ts hot out and the a/c won't blow cold immediately but it just keeps blowing hot air. As soon as I put the truck in "Drive" and start moving, the a/c starts to blow cold. Anyone have an idea of how to get my a/c to work with the truck in "Park"? It's hot in Florida for 11 months a year and I'd like the a/c to be the best it can be...

I don't think you have a problem with the AC at all. If you were to do a search on this topic, you will see that there have been many complaints on the AC in our trucks. Problem is that not enough air is drawn through with the engine fan at idle to cool the AC condensor at idle. As soon as you move forward and/or increase the engine revs, more air is drawn through the condensor, cooling it and allowing the AC to work better. You could take the truck into a AC shop for a free checkup (most shops offer this for free), but I think you'll see there's nothing wrong with your system. Some have added an electric fan to the front of the condensor; don't know if this did any good though for the price of the parts to install it.
