*ahhh! Stranded!* cranking won't start
#12
So I pulled all the plugs out and they all looked horrible (black) and all the gaps were off as well, I unplugged the injectors and let any fuel in the cylinders evaporate, then I put a little oil down each plug hole and turned it over a few times to make sure the rings sealed. Put new plugs in with the injectors still unplugged I sprayed a little starting fluid into the throttle body and tried to start it just to see if it would even cough. Nothing.
I don't know if I got the rings to seal up well enough but I'm pretty sure I have no spark, well no spark and/or no compression. I tried to get a new injector but they gave me the wrong part at autozone and now I'm stranded at home with no way to exchange it for the right one. Beyond frustrated, anything here give anybody some clues?

Can you verify you have spark?
I can't see how you would loose compression that fast, usually there are tell tale signs.
