Default Someone help with my Tire Rub?

Hey guys, I have an 06 F150 Lariat 4x4 and I have a 3" Skyjacker suspension lift. I stuck some 33" tires on and when I go in reverse and turn the wheel at half turn (wich I have to do everyday to get out of my garage and driveway) My Tire catches this fender piece. I'm not sure if its just for lariats or what because my 08 Work truck xlt doesn't have this flare piece.

But basically my question is, what do you guys think is the best solution for this is? It only catches the corner of it so should I just take a Dremel and cut the corner off? I hear people put 2.5" leveling kits and have 35" tires so why am I rubbing with 3" and 33" tires? Would crankin my torsion bar some solve this problem and even possibly allow me to put on 35"s? Thanks for you help guys. Here are some pics of what the tires do to the fender flare/whatever it is.

I agree this is the exact same place my tires rubbed but I ended up cutting a little piece of it off and now no problems at all. To be honest unless you look really close you don't even notice that I had to trim it.

Here is a pic of where I had to trim mine. This is the rear part of the wheel well. The white use to extend past the little bracket circled in red.

Awsome! and if you dont mind me asking since I noticed you had a 2" leveling kit, what size tires are yours, just so I can get an idea of what size larger I can get, because I only stuck with the 33"s because skyjacker reccomended it, but I don't mind cutting away some of that fender to fit a larger tire.

I have a 6in lift kit on my truck and I was rubbing with 35s on it....... I put a 2.5 leveling kit on it and it rubs no more...... but with the 6in lift and the leveling kit you have to modify the A arms.......... I also have an add-a-leaf on the rear... its a total of 8ins of lift.......

I went with the 295/70R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers that equates to a 34.2 Height by 11.6 Width. Other than trimming the rear part of the front wheel well I also trimmed a very, very small piece on my lower valance just to make sure it would not rub. I don't know if it would have rubbed but I trimmed it anyway. It was not even enough to make that much of a difference.

As in my signature the wheels I went with have a +18mm backspacing so that definatley helps them not rub.

Here is the thread I posted when I got my wheels/tires. It shows a few more pic's of how far they stick out and the distance between the tire and upper control arm.

Thanks both of you for your help! And thanks for that Link!!!!! I have wheels the same size as you and I stick out exactly the same so I feel a lot better now knowing I can go slightly larger in the future w/o worrying.

It's because of your wheel offset, the wheel you mentioned has an offset of -12mm where someone else may have +18 or the factory wheel has +44 offset.

If you take the offset of the factory wheels for example compared to yours, you are getting over an inch of inner clearance for the suspension parts to clear but then it's extending the outer edge over 2".

I went through this same thing on my 2004 Silverado, I read how people were putting 275/70/17s or 285/70/17s with no lift. I installed a 3" body lift and put 285/70/17s and it was rubbing. I had to really trim for the tires to work but then I learned it was because of the wheels, the new ones I had on there had a 0 offset. I sold the wheels about a year later and found some that had a +25 offset which brought the tire back in about an inch. It would of easily cleared without trimming
