Aftermarket Antenna
I'm looking into getting an aftermarket antenna for the truck, as it keeps hitting on the garage and when I park the truck in the garage its slightly bent from having a short ceiling. I did some research on here, but seems most threads are outdated. I found a few on amazon and not sure if anyone has had any experience with any of these? Looking for opinions and feedback on reception mostly. TIA.

I would go for the 14" antenna. With the stubby, you lose a lot of frequencies over the radio. If you don't mind losing a few stations, and you like the stubby, then go for it. I know many people don't use the radio now-a-days but I do and it was a deal breaker for me. The 14" wont hit your garage and you might still get all the stations.

I got a stubby from AutoAnything and I believe I ordered the 21" as that kept it flush with the roof of my cab. Doesn't give as good of reception as the stock antenna but it looks better and I hardly listen to the radio anyways.

This is exactly what I did with mine. Close a crescent wrench untill it just fits over the antenna and use it to knock the little ball off the end. Cut to desired length and then grind a slight taper on the end you just cut so the little ball can be tapped back on. Touch up with a dab of black paint or magic marker and you have a factory looking antenna with no noticeable loss of reception. I've done several over the years.

I dont have any of the ones you are considering but I did recently buy the cravenspeed 50 cal bullet antenna. Its a great piece and looks really good on the truck but the reception is **** poor to say the least. With being a stubby, short antenna I knew I would lose some reception but I constantly get static. Only good thing is I dont rely heavily on the radio so it is what it is..............just food for thought
