I'm right there with you. I actually found two nice '13s that had my eye, both in the 35,000 mi. range. Both were going to require my trade plus $24,000 or better ("better" being the Lariat that I really liked). Pass for now. I have to say that my '05 has been mechanically perfect with no issues worth mentioning.

A fuel pump is a heck of a lot cheaper then your trade plus $20K. Plus you have a nice truck and parts for newer truck are much more expensive relatively speaking then these 04-08 models. Another thing I thought about is have you checked your alternator? Reason I ask is I had one that the diode was going out in that would put out weird voltage reading after you went WOT or high RPM's. Once it settled down it was fine until you went WOT again. Just a thought.

See, I didn't know you'd added standoffs for it.

I agree, but its still a 5.4 3V with over 150k miles......

Interesting on the alternator. Would a bad alternator cause the normally ice cold A/C to stop working (as in not blow cold) for 4-5 seconds during a WOT pull? I noticed that this summer a time or 2.

Actually, it's supposed to work that way...cuts out to give you a 'lil extra power during WOT

Okay well thats re-assuring. I did a total of 3 WOT pulls today. I could not get the issue to simulate itself. I suppose thats a good thing. I did have 2 people tell me bad gas. I did just fill up on Tuesday.

That's good to know, and kind of what I expected you to report back.

LOL Elricfate has said in the original post that he added stand offs to it. You need new glasses?

So driving to work, again no issues. Fuel rail pressure is 39 psi and goes upwards of 50 psi on hard acceleration, voltage is a steady 14.1-14.2 volts and accelerator pedal position goes to 100% when floored. So I am guessing this is a one time issue where the pcm had a hiccup after the WOT then instant coasting. Still averaging 17.5 mpgs hand calculated.
