Ford is replacing the torque converter. I must give them cudos, they are covering the entire cost of the repair. In addition to that, they have given me a 2014 fusion to drive till my truck is ready. The truck is far outside of the warranty time frame so I am elated.

Thanks Ford.

Glad to hear it all worked out. You should pass this on to the ford rep on the forum and let her know they handled it perfectly.

Why are they replacing it outside warranty? Are they taking responsibility for damage or is there a recall?

So, did this stop the hesitation, slip, shudder or stall effect not caused by a misfire, low voltage at high temps with the ac on?

Just got the truck back today.

I was explained that the transmission flush may have spread metals or loosened particles that got in the fluid and damaged the torque converter. (Particles that were stuck to the magnetic drain plug may have been spread?). Their suggestion was to drain and refill in the future. DONT FLUSH.

Ford covered it under their customer loyalty program. In addition to covering the repair, the dealer loaned me a 2014 Fusion to drive (free of charge) until the repair was complete. They took care of me!

Rest assured I'll never have another transmission flushed for as long as I live.

Had Ford not covered the repair it would have cost me $1800.00.

Thanks Ford.
