Default AFE 3" Catback Exhaust

Does anyone have this exhaust on their truck or has any input about it? I am thinking about buying it and was wondering if its any good. There arent any reviews online about it. 05 F-150 5.4L. Thanks

Do yourself a favor and just get the tailpipe and the muffler of your choice and it will be a cat back for a lot less.

Tailpipe:

Is there any difference between just a tailpipe and the AFE catback? I think its a steal for all stainless plus a 4" tip for $400

A different muffler and tailpipe are really all you are getting with a cat back. Why not make it the way you want and for less money? First let's look at what the aFe looks like:

Isn't that splendid: a tip, tailpipe, muffler, and some pipe before the muffler for $400. But wait you can have a stainless system for less by piecing it together, impossible!

-The tailpipe in the link I gave earlier is stainless for $100
-The muffler you choose to your wants in sound can vary in price but usually is between $40-$100 for a stainless muffler
- The tip can be longer than the tiny one in the kit, and look the way you want it and should be around $40
- Shoot I'll even add in a new piece of stainless before the muffler AND a new Magnaflow Y pipe for an advantage over the cat back. That will be about another $50
-Have the shop weld together the pieces, shouldn't be more than $100 in labor (and make sure they give you the stock system back)

Even with the new Y pipe that the cat back doesn't offer and throw in costs that estimates on the high side, you're still right at or below $400 and you get to choose exactly what you want and get it welded in, instead of clamped.

These are all my opinions and have no affiliations to any company or shops. If you're truly set on buying a cat back it is your choice, just trying to show all the options that are out there.
