I have an 04 FX4 SuperCrew. As of now I have a few minor issues. First; the lock button on the driver door doesn't work, however the unlock side of the switch does. I believe as a result of this my remote start isn't working. When I hit the button it does two short honks and then doesn't do anything. Secondly. Heatshields. One was rattling a few months ago and I fixed it with a large hose clamp. It's still fine now. But the other one has started rattling. Any better ideas before I go get another hose clamp? Lastly on the way to school this morning, when going around a left hand corner I heard some clunks from the front end upon acceleration. Any ideas? Ball joints? Shocks? Any input on anything is welcomed. Thanks in advance.!! Here's a picture just for fun. Haha

Pull the swithbox out and clean the contacts, a lot of guys do this and it helps. The other thing you can check is open the door and push the rubber tubing out of the way the wires run through in between the door and truck. My power window stopped working and i did this and found the wire cut in half, again very common. The front end is tougher, how many miles on truck? Anything replaced in the past. Jack it up and wiggle the stuff to see how it moves, take a pry bar and pry up on LCA and see if the LBJ wiggles...it shouldnt. Good luck

It's got 115k on it. I've been putting miles on a lot lately. Around 1000 just this week. Switch box is under the dash correct? And I will check. The front end is bothering me some and I think I will jack it up and check wheel bearings and that sort of thing.

No. He's talking about the window switches in the door panel. They pop right out with a screwdriver. Unplug them, them clean the contacts where ithe wiring harness plugs in.

The switch buttons themselves? They pop out?

You just pop the whole thing out of the door like techrep said. Heres a great start to finish video for the switches. My LBJ needed replacing at 100k miles

Pretty sure the sound from the front is more of a click noise, pretty sure it's a CV joint. Anyone with experience with this?

Like a baseball card in a set of spokes? If so, IWE or solenoid, or pinhole in air lines, or check valve, or any other part of the unreliable 4wd system on these trucks.
