Advice for buying 100k mile plus 04 to 08

Thanks for the replies. Gives me a good starting point to base my decision. Any downside to the 4.6 for day to day driving? Seems to be quite a few in my area with this motor. Seems like it has less issues in this model year range.

less power/towing capability. About the same mileage as the 5.4. Just keep in mind that these also have the infamous phaser issue as well, just not as well documented on these forums. Personally, either is fine, just save a little for the known issues.

On my '04 Lariat I had more window problems then anything else.

3 window regulators and 2 rear slider motors...I always carried duct tape and clear packaging tape in case of rain. The 5.4 3V engine was the least of my problems!!
