Default Advanced Timing

Has anyone tried loosening the distributor bolt and turning the distributor on any kind of vehicle before and advancing the timing?

What motor.also open up my plug gap about.05 more also when doing this.my 06 4.6 i run the gap of .62 with the timing bumped on the edge

I was curious if it makes a difference or is it pretty miniscal? I know if done wrong its good bye engine but was wondering if done right is it worth it?

I'm curious on doing this with the 5.4 L it's a 2004. I just have a CAI and superchip tuner.

5.4 plus are not gappable. And you don't have a dizzy.timing is done through a programmer
