New to the forum but not new to ford trucks... Both my 99 and 2000 expeditions had the keypad and I loved them... so I purchased this 04 super crew f150 and would like to add the keypad from ford installed in the door handle.. so from doing a search here I have understood that the wiring should be in the door... I also followed the instructions to remove my rear seat and find the code... (did that today as well as got my power rear slider moving again)... so now I get to wanting to order the door handle but the posts I found in the search here( and google) seem to have some conflicting stories as far as if my computer needs to be programmed to wake up this feature... I found some that say before 07 it was already flashed and is just plug and play.. and some that say 04 needs programming and the 05 do not... wondering if there is anyone here with a 04 that has personally done this and if it needed programming? And also if it did... is a Ford dealership the only place that could do it?? I called my local dealership Saturday and was told that it would be $97 dollars... which from.all the posts here seems high... any first hand experience it would def be appreciated... thanks in advance

Thanks for the link... I had read this one... was preferring to go with the factory ford keypad in the handle... but if it's gonna cost me 200-300 bux after programming ( given buying new parts and assuming programming is what they quoted me) I may end up going this route...
