Adding keyless entry door handle
#11
What model F150 is the OP's truck? I have an STX, and it had "power nothing" options. It was not pre-wired for anything as well. Since then, I've added aftermarket door locks and windows. I've thought of adding the power outside door lock handles, but in my investigation, I found it would be a real PITA to do on my model truck (STX).

Piece of cake. The door lock kit was a wopping 40 bucks (two actuators, two key fobs, and a wiring harness), and the power windo kit I used was 75 bucks (two window motors, wiring, and switches).
These have been in this truck for 2 years now with no issues; I had the same in a 2005 for 4 years. Hardest part is running the wiring from the cab to the door; the 2007's have a "plug" at the door jamb, so the wiring that passes to the door jamb has to either go through the rubber tube (about a half inch after the plug), or you have to drill a hole to pass it fron the cab to the inner door.

My truck is a 2004. Keypad and handle are brand new. I did plug it into the existing wire harness that was there for this. It had a dummy plug plugged into it. It took me about 1 hour at the most to install this. My key fob still unlocks my doors as well.
I will try and press the 7/8 and the 9/0 keys when I leave work and see if anything happens.

I bought the handle of a guy on craigslist. It was new and he never installed it. You can order the part from Ford. I can post the part number when I get home and you can check where else you can buy it
