Default Adding fog lights to XL model

Anyone have any suggestions or words of wisdom? Heard I have to go to a dealer for a flash test? How much am I going to be in the hole just to add fog lights?

You could get a bumper with fog lights and mount Piaa 510 or Rigid Dully lights in the buckets, use Their wiring to an aux switch or even a light switch that includes the fog light feature. This would be easier than adding factory.

I already have the factory switch for it and the bumper, fog lights and mounts. I think I need a BCM and is it true it has to be reset by a ford computer?

Looking quickly at the f150 wiring diagrams I believe you don't need any kind of flash to make them work... I'll research it some more here in a bit and post back... But if nothing else you should be at least able to use the factory switch and some new wires (if they don't already exist) to the fogs... So it will look and function like factory (on/off when its supposed to)

first i would look to see if the wiring isnt already there. if it is then just swap out the switch, and plug in the lights. i know alot of the time its cheaper to just run the same wiring on all the trucks they built.

i know a 08 i was looking at didnt have fog lights and looked and it had the wiring.

From what I can tell it doesn't. I checked to see if there was a plug underneath the radiator where it would normally be and there wasn't anything there. The current light switch has an open slot that would normally connect the fog lights I think. I think I'll have to buy a harness.

Pull your headlight switch out and see if you have these wires in the harness:

White with black
Light green with black , if you do then we can at least get you wired so you can use the factory switch.

Check you fuse box to see if you have the fuse and relay for the fogs.

r202 (relay)
Fuse 17 - 15amp

You can recreate the circuit if you are not wired for it... If you are good with wiring and relays I can walk you thru how to make it work... Let me know and I'll draw something up for you.

I am also looking at doing this, I have checked and I have the wires, I have the fuse and I have the amp...I can't seem to find the plugs though for the foglights...where does ford 'hide' them?
