Default Adding a efan to a/c

How hard would it be to add a cheaper efan from an auto parts store to the a/c condensor on my truck? I dont want to install complete efans because i need reliability. But I would love to have an efan just for the a/c unit. Any ideas? And where is the a/c condensor, lol.

AC condensor is in front of the radiator....

Why are you wanting to place an electric fan in front of it? If you go that route, why not just replace the stock fan setup with an electric kit?

Aye. Long as you get a decent kit and clean install, I don't know why reliability with an efan would be an issue either....

I would imagine the reason would be so the AC would work half decent when the truck is sitting still in traffic or red light. My cab heats up quick if I'm not moving.

summit racing has a setup for an efan kit so does 4wheelparts. they arent cheap but they will provide a truck that is a lot cooler than stock.

I installed two fans on the AC Condenser and it worked really well, be sure to get push style fans. It will also help on radiator cooling.

I have heard to many problems with the efans and have had enought trouble with stuff already, lol. I just want the fans to the a/c unit. Does anyone have any pictures of the a/c condensor. I know the tranny cooler is in front of the radiator, but where is the a/c condensor?

Step 1:Open your hood. The tranny cooler is that little one down behind the bumper.

Step 2: There is no step 2, the radiator lookin thing right in front of you with all the bugs smashed into it IS your A/C condenser.

(Optional)
Step 3: Convince yourself by following any one of the large water hoses from your engine to the *gasp* actual radiator which is located secretly in the large fan shroud.

Lol once I looked a little closer I realized where the a/c condensor was. I felt retarded. haha. But anyways At work my brain was churning and I worked up a plan. I have remote start on my truck but at idle that a/c just sucks *****. I didnt want to get efans because of reliability issues. So i just got an efan and put it in front of my a/c condensor. I got a 14" one and it fits perfectly. Depending on how it works out I may get another one and wire it in as well. It was 91* outside when I got it installed at about 10pm. I turned on the truck and my little thermometer i keep in my air vent read 98. After 10min of idling the thermometer read 50*, lol. It performs way better than it has ever before. I will post pictures tomorrow and repost of how its working. Tomorrow we are installing a fan on my dads 06 cummins mega cab.

Pic (ignore my friends hand). It has been a few days and it works amazing. Idling in 105 degree weather my truck pushed 54 degree air out of the vents. I am thrilled.
