Adding Auto Headlight Feature-forumrunner_20130614_194044.jpg

Well I went looking around and came up with this. By the looks of it the body security module controls the whole setup. However I cant find a wiring dig for the parking lights and how they tie in with the bsm. Anyways I dont know if your bsm would be programed to even know what to do if you hooked up the auto switch or the sun load sensor then you still have to run you headlight wiring through it (which don't seam right but hey I didn't wire the truck). I agree that you might have to find a 12v sun sensor that you could just drive a few relays to make it act auto and you could still use the stock auto headlight switch if you wanted to wire it in.

05jakev -- I was looking at the same electrical diagram. I got mine through All data. I also think the BSM is the means of control..which also means that I would probably have to reprogram my cluster to activate this feature. In order to do that, however, i would need a VIN # that has the "as built code" from Ford in order to indentify the specific code to program and activate this feature.
More expensive then finding a simple wiring solution. In any case I'm sure with the help of this forum I'll get the expertise of someone who has successfully done this. An Electrical 101 effort.
Thanks for your imput !

Was wondering if that light sensor worked out or if you found something else. I was thinking about getting one for a friends car.

O5jakev - Ordered item through e-bay coming from China haven't received it yet.
Will post results after installation and testing.
Thanks again for your input.

O5jakev and others following this thread, Sorry for the late post: Received module from China but subsequently shelved the project to focus on other priorities. Somewhat of a lame excuse, I know but non-the-less, one of many projects I haven't completed. I will, however, install this feature some time in the future and will report back the results. In review of the eBay posted specifications and installation instructions I can't see why this wouldn't work. It appears to be a simple solution to remedy the afforestated problem. So, in the interim, if anyone else has installed this mod, please report any results.
Thanks
