Default AC stops blowing cold when stopped

I read somewhere that this may be realated to the fan clutch. Is there a way to check for sure and what else could it be.

AC blows ice cold while driving. After stopped at a light for a while it will blow less and less cold. My fan does work, as it is spining while engine is running and the truck never attempts to run hot.

Take your truck over to Firestone for their $19.99 summer AC checkup. They'll charge you an extra $10 to run dye through it. I'd bet you have a leak somewhere and you're low on coolant. My truck does the same thing and has the same condition. Cruising down the road = blows cold. Come to a stop = tepid air.

Don't let them rape you on getting it fixed though, they quoted me over $1,200 to fix it.

Good luck man!

My ac had the same problems.
It was not due to a lack of freon but rather
a lack of air flow to release the heat from the condenser.
My fix was to increase airflow. E fans.
There is a e fan thread started by Blown Ford.
Good thread. We use different controllers but it is a
good thread. The only reason I use a dc controller was my f5
burned up and could have started a fire. Smell of an electrical
fire caused me to go another route, along with the manufacturer
support telling me I was not the only one and controllers were
in redesign. Blown has had great success with his f5.
Good luck!
