When my friend and I went to do the compressor and drier we were unable to get the drier free from the evaporator. There's some Ford quick connect there that non of the tools we bought could operate. So no biggy I take the drier and expansion valve to a local Goodyear service center. They install both parts and "supposedly" check the system for leaks then fill it up. They then tell me the compressor is not coming on, and I can pay them to diagnose it. (Red flag #1) I get the truck home and discovered they pulled the compressor fuse. I put a new one in and the ac blows cold as ice. 3 weeks later, the situation in the OP occurs. I take it back to them and tell them to recheck the system for leaks. They tell me it's leaking at the condenser and 2 other places and they want me to pay $400 for a new condenser and recharge.

I explain to them that I shouldn't pay for another recharge since they didn't properly check it for leaks the first time. They say those 3 leaks must have spontaneously appeared between the last time they had the truck and now. We go back and forth a bit and then the manager basically tells me to go f myself a few different ways. I take my truck and leave.

So it looks like I'll be putting in a new condenser myself and taking it to another shop for a proper evac and charge.

My take is away is never go back to a chain store for service

As the weather gets warmer i'm sure we'll see more stories of AC problems. I can change brakes I can install a dashcam, but for the life of me I don't have a clue on Dryers or Evap units.

Man! I wish their was a "How-To" on this truck. My banker (wife) stated I have to save about 500 bucks to get this fixed. My problem is My truck just blows hot-air and I'd love to get this fixed especially if I can do it myself But as I said earlier i'm clueless where to begin.
