On a side note, I currently have the following timing components for sale:
Timing Chains, Tensioners, guides, both Cam sprockets, VCT solenoid, front timing cover gaskets, Rocker arms and lifters (currently soaking in 5w20 motorcraft oil). All Ford Genuine Parts. Message me if interested. shoot me a reasonable price. Keep in mind these components I sell are going toward repairing an engine. Be nice...

My project
Here is my project I have been working on this past week it has taken me about 15hrs right now to get to this point . Pulling the engine in this truck is no fun project. I have pulled many engines and by far this one is the worst . What I can tell you is that it takes a bunch of specialized tools to get this motor out and back in . I even made a custom wrench that will get the top two tranny bolts from the top . If your going to take on this project feel free to pm me and I can do my best explaining the tools and everything that held me up . I am in the market for new timing components but I think I'm going with all new no way I'm doing this again

For the back 2 top tranny bolts you can get right on them with about 2 feet of interconnected wobble and solid extensions while laying on the ground..
Wobble extensions are like gold for this job..
Harbor freight has em cheap.. Definitely use an impact..
For the power steering pump, just remove the pulley and swap a new pump on there with a fresh pulley.. Replace the ps lines of they look like tree bark..
Molly grease or anti seize is your friend on most of the studs/bolts and getting that oil dipstick tube (dorman) pushed in..
Go with some good stainless short tube or long tube headers and stainless studs for the exhaust, skip the factory cast log manifold.. You won't regret this..
Upgrade all your block to chassis grounds while your at it too..
New starter, and new flexplate are both must do's IMO. I went with an SFI HD flexplate, and it was a tight fit over the converter studs, but does fit.. New tourque converter nuts here are a must..
Also pulling that battery tray out really does help with the Trans dipstick tube and will help give you space to get that fresh motor lined up right the first time.. Chasing all the threads or at least greasing all the bolts and studs on new motor really helps with any paint that got in there from the reman process..
Is your radiator core support bent?

Agreed^^ pulling the motor on these trucks is not "tit".. Shouldn't need any special tools tho.. A tranny Jack, and engine hoist and jack stands are about as specific as tools get.. I ended up using a forklift instead of the engine hoist that I have. The forklift by far was the saving grace, my truck was almost too tall to use my engine hoist once it was supported on Jack stands..

I struggled like crazy while curled up like a squirrel trying from the top, not a single wrench i owned was shaped appropriately for how close they are to the firewall. I just had a buddy line my socket up on those bolts while I fed the long extension set in from underneath and ran those bolts right out..
Here are pics from ordeal.. Didn't load on the last post..
