I found a spot. One behind each headlight. There's adequate room in this area so that none of the hot wires have any chance contacting ground.

It's also far from the engine's heat and reasonably well protected from the elements.

3A diode wired to protect the new relays from back EMF when the fans shut off.

One EMF protection circuit needed per fan/relay.

Large yellow ring terminal goes to switched fan hot side.

Medium blue ring terminal with black and red wires goes to ground.

Small blue ring terminal with black wire goes to relay coil (ground).

It's up and running. I think I'm going to use another diode and tie in the A/C circuit so that both fans come on when the A/C calks for it. There is enough leakage through the non running fan that the A/C doesn't get very cold at idle. I might get a time delayed relay so both fans don't kick on at the exact same time.
