About to pick up a 2005 Lariat

Here is the code I think your referring to for performance, I got the code myself when my throttle body was acting up due to you guessed it, gas pedal position sensor.

So 2 of the 3 codes are related, the knock code I'm unsure about, but I would imagine, 1 weird knock or something like that could cause it. Before the trade you could always unplug the battery and see if it goes away. Remember the truck will run pretty crappy after this for a while because it's relearning everything. Just to add on however I have Never heard of any issue with these trucks having any sort of detonation issues. Even with my edge evolution programmer advancing the timing a couple degrees, I have had zero issues and I'm at 160,000 miles on my factory engine.

That would confirm ScreaminEagle's notion about the electronic throttle body. What did you do to fix that issue? Yea. The knock issue I couldn't really find much. I was able to locate a couple of threads part aiming to the 5.4 Triton that talked about detonation, but they appeared to all be low miles. I'm gonna go look at this truck, but I'm gonna plug my AE up and read the codes just to verify the performance code is the same one you posted. And to check the other 2 codes to verify. I'll clear the codes from AE and take it for an extended test drive to see what it doing. I'll see if I can monitor "knock" during the test drive using my AE and go from there.

MudKing is right, very easy to replace. I replaced mine when I had the throttle body off a couple days ago, and I got mine at autozone for like $50 if I remember correctly, took me a whole 5 minutes

Ok. I did a little searching and it seems most people replaced the entire TB, though few people claimed cleaning the TB fixed the problem. I'll monitor throttle position with AE and see if I can get a good reading, if not that should be the issue. If the reading is good, I'll assum the TPS is good and either the TH needs cleaned or needs replaced. I appreciate everyone's input. Looks like I came to the right place!

Well, the deal fell through. The guy changed his mind. The G35 needs new control arm bushings which isn't a big deal, and he knew that. But with the few issues his truck has, I told him that I'd prefer not to spend money on a vehicle I'm not keeping and spend the money on the truck, and that I'm sure he felt the same. So I told him if everything checks out, we could do the trade as is and spend our pennies on the vehicles we are keeping. Either that scared him away, or the difference in value scared him away. Either way, the deal isn't happening, so I'm back to searching. I appreciate everyone's input!

Agree ^^^^. You will be 10000x better off keeping what you have now, then once you graduate or after you've worked a couple years picking up a nicer F150 with less than 200k miles that needs work.
