Gears on a 4x4 will cost you about $1200-$1500 and the tuner will be another $400. The lift with tires and new wheels will be $5000+ depending on tires and lift

lets be completely honest, Univ. of Georgia-Athens is NOT a commuter school. If you wont be in on-campus housing, you will most likely get into one of those apartment complexes that are within 2-3 miles of campus. If you decide to fire up the 35k pickup you received free of charge in order to attend class, you are foolish. Get a bike, if you have a full tank of gas at college, it should last you about a month. BUT, if you think you need to go play in your free truck, then you already knew exactly what you were getting into in the first place, the fact that the pickup in question does not have stellar fuel mileage did not sneak up on you. Contrary to what you might think, you will not have enough free time during day light hours to go out and play, you will be occupied with way to much.....class, homework, term papers, secondary research, work, women, beer, etc.....

I agree! I have worked hard for everything I own, I even paid my own college tuition (A lot of parents end up paying out the *** for their kids college education, but not mine), but my father (who is a heavy equipment operator and transporter ****NOT RICH BY ANY MEANS***) told me, that for all my hard work academically, he would give me $400 a month to go towards a payment and insurance for a vehicle I wanted while going to college, anything more than that I would have to pay. Now I have a very nice 04 FX4 that I have taken over paying in full now that I graduated college. Now is everyone going to tell me I'm spoiled and talk to me like Im a spoiled little bitch? NO! At least not to my face. This **** is personal business and is not acceptable to be saying to someone in person so don't say it on here. The fact of the matter is that this guy comes from a family that is fortunate enough to be in a position to help their son who is striving to make a good life for himself, not sitting on his *** at his parents house at age 28 (which seems to be a growing trend now days) working minimum wage. So why all the negativity? IMO nobody on here or anywhere else has a right to tell this guy what he will and will not have time to be doing while in college, let alone ride his *** for his parents buying him a vehicle for his accomplishments. Im sorry I have a lot of respect for a lot of people on here but this thread pisses me off. I think a lot of this negativity stems from jealousy.

The kid did not ask whether or not u guys thought he was spoiled and whether or not is what right for his parents to buy him an F150. SO I don't see why people feel the need to give input on his Personal business.

I dont understand why someone who is supposedly so worried about gas milage would be thinking about chipping, lifting and putting bigger tires on a truck. All thats going to do is make your gas milage even worse.
Personally, Id tell them to buy you a Focus, Five Hundred or a Fusion. What does a kid in college need a fullsize extended cab 4x4 truck for? You say you cant have fun in a 4x2. Well, you arent there to have fun. You are there to get the best education possible so that you can get a good job.
No offense, but you really do sound like a spoiled rich kid who needs to grow up.

i guess i am missing the point you all are bitching about... i see nothing here that says he is bitching about gas.. i take it that he can afford a little bad mileage but doesnt want it to be to bad.. could be wrong.. but personally i think this thread needs closed... before world war 3 comes around...
