98 F150 AC Job (1650.00) and not right
Just had ac work done on my 98 F150 5.4L and having problems. The shop replaced compressor, accumulator, blend door, evaporator, condenser, heater core... the whole 9 yards. Total cost was 1650.
They called to say it was ready and I pull out of the parking lot with no ac. Took it back they said the new condenser had a hole in it. They replace the condenser and call me back to pick it up.
I pick it up (with my vent thermometer) and the best I can get is about 55, when stopped at red light it goes up to about 65-70 (depending on length of redlight). Another weird issue, no matter what the vent to the left of the radio is 10-15 colder than the vent to the right of the radio.
I do refrigeration and hvac, and I've worked on my own auto ac's before and I know I should be getting at least in the low 40's and one vent should not be so much warmer than the other.
Just wanting to know if you guys have any idea what's going on. Of course it's going back to the shop but I also want to verify what the vent temps should be at about 90 85-90 ambient.
Thanks.

Did they use motorcraft parts or some junk aftermarket stuff? I went through that on my 08. The aftermarket compressor the shop was using kept having issues. Ended up getting my money back and going to a ford dealer.
