There are still some donor frames out there in good shape. Don't write her off too soon, or you might be kicking yourself in the ***.

If you have a shop do it, it's expensive. People have done frame swaps a lot though without a lot of tools. If you can do it yourself, or even prep the old frame to be rust resistent you would save a lot of labor money.

Well the shop says the frame is fine. It looks like the repairs to get her back on the road are going to be a lot less than I had anticipated. If they stay as low as my guy is telling me right now, I may be able to get the underside of the truck sand-blasted and painted sooner than I had hoped.
So far so good. Can't wait to be driving her again.

Good for you (fixing up the older truck). I still miss my '92 with the 4.9L. Had it for 18 years when a texting driver hit me head on... truck was not recoverable.
