It's an STX, which means it's got the 4.6L.

What is cel? Engine light. Is on (because of the o2 sensors.) Can break loose fine...

And it coasts, but not for long. Haha. It decelerates pretty quickly just. By coasting in flat ground.

It should coast pretty well, shouldn't slow quickly.

If you have a CEL on, it's running in closed loop on preset parameters, barring the computer from making adjustments. That alone will give you bad MPG.

CEL=Engine light.

It's on, and it's a warning to the operator that all is not right with the engine. When it's on, MPG are going to go into the tank.

Without a scanner you can't tell. It can be for literally hundreds of faults. If you don't have a code scanner, take it to Autozone and have the codes scanned.

My buddy who helped with the motor swap does. I just scanned it.. it threw 12 codes. So glad you said something or I wouldn't have thought of it.. here's the codes: I know 2 were about o2 sensor , and camshaft position sensor.. don't know the rest...
