7mpg after motor swap???
I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find one on my phone.. but I have an 04 f150 stx 4x4 ext cab short bed. I bought it with an engine tick, motor blew.. replaced motor, did full tune up, whole 9 yards.. abd I'm getting 7mpg. I don't hammer on it usually.. any reasons behind this? 90% is city driving.. have used 4x4 for maybe 10 mins total this tank and I got 200 miles out of it... Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Any mods (bigger than stock tires, etc) gearing?
If you have the 4.6L and you're running 35s without regearing, 7MPG isn't out of the range of possibilities.

Oxygen sensors, how are the cats? If the old motor was misfiring they could have corrupted the cats, giving you a clogged cat.
Clean the MAF, clear the computer (there's a thread on here somewhere about clearing the computter) tire air pressure, front end alignment, all should be checked out.

When you're at a stop light and you let off the break, before you hit the gas, does the truck move forward?
Just trying to rull out dragging break or some other componet like axle in a bind that could be dragging.
Also, have you tried to spin the tires on loose gravel? Make sure that 4WD is not locked in.
