I could prob cut you a great deal on a used precision 6152e turbo I have sitting on the bench.. It's the 5 bolt 63 AR discharge.. It has some chips on the hot side wheel, so I do recommend you ship it out to precision for a rebuild which is less then $200.. It supports up to 650 hp as is, and is smaller then the one fangs spec'd, yet bigger then the STS kit turbo. It should get you spooling with minimal lag due to it's smaller size, and it will build boost quicker... I've also got air to air and air to water intercooler setups to throw in on a deal. I've got these parts lingering from when I was going to turbo my 5.4 3v, but then I found the whipple..
Keep in mind you will need a remote oil pump to get oil to the turbo and High flow cats are a must. The reason why the exhaust wheel on mine is chipped is due to cat converter shooting pieces of material through it when it blew apart.. It still works with the chips on the wheel, but for the cheap money it takes to fix it I wouldn't leave it as is..
I can get you pics of the turbo and parts if you'd like.. H
