6" Suspension lift went wrong!
I took my truck into a shop to have a Pro Comp 6" suspension lift installed. This was Feb 27, 2009. My receipt said Pro Comp 6" Stage I. After many problems and thinking that I got what I paid for, I found out the shop had installed a Doetsch 6" kit. I have gone round and round with the shop. Finally in January of 2010 I received the Pro Comp kit from the shop that did the original install. I took the kit to 4wheel parts. 4 Wheel Parts removed the Doetsch kit and installed the Pro Comp along with the Stage II upgrade.
Finally my truck drives as expected!!!!!

Sorry if Post is too long!
My 6"Lift experience with a small shop in El Cajon Ca.
I bought my 2008 f150 Screw 4x4 new. I shopped around for someone to install it ,I wanted a Pro Comp stage I. I had talked with 4 various shops in the area. I settled on this shop who was in the same Auto center as my first Volvo Shop.(after 30years I closed my Store) I thought I would support a small shop instead of the big boys like 4 wheel parts, ORW or someone else. Which they of course were more money.
So I picked up my truck and drove it. I had a vibration above 45 mph on the way home. It felt like the front hubs were engaged. I was told everything was correct. I left it with them for three days, the vibration was better but still there.
So I found that there was a brace under the truck that hit the oil pan, I found out that the front spindles were machined wrong and had cracked my right front hub. The hub wouldn't hold vacuum. . I had Ford replace the Hub. and grind out the spindle so the hub could fit right.
I found that the Shop had tried to cut off the lower mount on the Front diff housing. I couldn't believe that a pro Cop kit was like this. I even called Pro Comp tech support. Things seemed funny. Pro Comp Said no they aren't supposed to cut off the mount.
So on and on for 11 months, the drivability of my truck got worse and worse. I found out that they had put on a Doetsch kit due to the fact it cost him less.
WARNING THIS KIT HAD A PROBLEM ON MY TRUCK!!!!! And became a safety Problem especially in the rain. Buyer beware! Whether it was the kit or the installer--- I don't know? If I was to believe three independent opinions .???? I would have to say the kit. and blame the dishonest shop for putting it on my truck.
I was told by True Line alignment, that they couldn't align my truck perfectly and they did as best as possible.
I took my truck to Two other Suspension Shops. One told me that he has taken these kits (Doetsch) off because they couldn't align. This info is specific to the late model F150.
Now 4 wheel Parts in my area had told me that they don't install Doetsch kits on the F150. but they had sold them across the counter as a less expensive 6" kits to those that ask for them.

Keep the Doetsch?
No! The original shop wouldn't give me the Pro Comp until I returned all the old stuff.
Read the second post I am still thinking of taking him to court for the added cost and damages. I just needed the ProComp I had to play it cool. The first shop acted like I was a problem he didn't want to deal with.

Shop
It's a shop In El Cajon, Ca
On Mashall Ave.
Called So-Cal Suspension
I just can't believe It. The more I think about it. The madder I get!!!!
At one point I was told by the ownerof the shop.
Didn't I tell you I had put a different kit on your truck When you picked it up?
I just held up my receipt, That showed a ProComp Stage I kit.
Yes! he did tell me, but it was some time after I was dealing with the continued problems.
I wish I still had my own shop! Being 57 years old and not wanting to crawl around on my drive way to do the install, cost me time and money

That sucks Larry that you had the other kit on the whole time and didnt know. Id be pissed also and the shop owner should be held responsible for trying to make a few bucks off of you.
I myself almost bought that kit because it was cheaper but im glad I went with the Pro Comp in the end.
