Any of you all give the Champion's a go? I like that they are one piece.
I tried the Champions. For me they fouled in about 25,000 miles and went back to the Motorcraft.

Hey @cruzomatic - my fellow San Antonian - you made a good choice. There is lots of information out there to read and absorb. Posts here about my personal experiences and ideas with our particular plugs might, hopefully help. See https://www.f150forum.com/f4/5-4l-3v...6/#post3930018

My experience still leads me to believe these Ford plugs are 35K to 40K mile plugs. The gap is 0.045" new. When I changed my original ones the gap was 0.095". I checked one of the replacements 30K miles later and it was already worn to 0.075" and the anti seize stuff was 99% gone. I'm also of the opinion they will either break or not and not much that you do will change that. My plugs for the most part were really clean after three cans of Sea Foam, cracking them just a bit, soaking with carbon remover. Working them back and forth. Four still broke.

My advice, get new Ford Plugs, some good anti seize, a Lisle tool, and have at it. If they break, let em break....the Lisle tool works very well. Then 40K later, change em again. M1911

i like the idea of cleaning the spark plug hole with the T handle brush from HF. I'll drop by and pick those up and give them a go. Thanks.

I found the Lisle tool on Amazon for a good price and returned it because I didn't need it. A good long soak of PB Blaster and 2 cans of Sea Foam did the trick. I also got the Motorcraft plugs on Amazon for about $2 less per plug, than the parts store.

Default settlement in sight

I was rather "excited" last night when I received a notice in the mail regarding the Ford Spark Plug Class Action Settlement!!!! Looks like the calls and complaints may have actually paid off and people in the class action suit might get anywhere from 25%-75% of their cost back. Anyone interested can go to www.fordsparkplugsettlement.com or call 844-881-0285.

I have a 2005 Expedition 5.4 3v . replaced plugs (I believe were from man. date 1/05) Truck has 176xxx miles , I was able to back the plugs out using a cap full of 5-20 oil (after cleaning out any corrosion around the spark plug base) about 1 full 180 turn on the spark plug, per spark plug. The entire spark plug replacement job took 3hrs. (Take your time removing the spark plugs and make sure to use spark plug anti seize when reinstalling the new plugs). Keep the work area clean so as no debris contaminate's the system. This job can be a success in little time if done without breaking the spark plugs.

Good Luck and remember regular maintenance will prevent issues no matter what motor you are working on !!!
