5.4 Triton V8 Engine Noise during Sharp Right Turn
I'm hoping one of y'all can help me diagnose my issue.
Truck: 2005 Ford F-150 5.4L Triton V8 XLT 4wd
Mileage: 113k
When taking a low speed right hand turn, accelerating slightly and putting the engine under load seems to cause some sort of engine noise/grind/knock. It's hard to describe the sound, however, the engine does seem to be bogged down during this. If I left off the gas and straighten out, the noise/grind/knock goes away. While cruising the engine doesn't miss a beat, even at 90mph. This is only characteristic when taking a low speed, sharp right turn with the 4wd turned off.
Have any of you had this issue or know what it could be? I'm unable to replicate it on command.

Even though 4WD says it's off, I'd still check those components out and inspect the steering.

I had the 4wd inspected earlier this winter. This feeling is distinctly different and makes different sounds that the 4wd binding up. That is not the cause. I appreciate your advice however!

Hmmm... then maybe check out your front brakes and lines for any steering-caused problems. My friend's husband had an issue on his car that was caused by a brake shop putting the caliper back on after a job, but it was rotated around 360 degrees so the line was twisted one whole rotation around. Removing the caliper and "unwinding" it fixed it.

Well this is an odd one.

I have the same issue that started a few days ago. I have a warranty so I am taking it to Christian Brothers. It sounds like a wheel bearing but I checked all the steering components and nothing is loose or has any play. Let us know if you fix it
