Default 5.4 rough idle/misfire/popping problems

Hey guys,
I just bought a 04 f150 and it has a misfire in cylinder 8 but the wierd part is it is in the first 1000 rpms and there is a poppping sounds coming from the intake. I have replaced all the plugs (there is no popping coming from around the plugs if there were bad threads), changed coils to check if it was a coil, changed fuel injectors to check if it was an injector and changed the oil and still no help. It idles really iradically and like crap until you get it above 1000 rpms and it comes out of it and there is no popping. If you unplug either the coil or the injector the popping stops also. anyone have any ideas? Was throwing the code for first 1000 rpms but then went away and threw code for faulty coil but than that went away to and cant get them to come back on. Need some help!?
thanks!

are you saying that on #8 you can pull the COP off and the poping stops...if this is a true statement you have a bad COP or connection to it...could even be a bad plug...swap #8 and #7 COP's and see if the problem follows..

If I unplug the harness connecting to the #8 cop or the harness connecting to the injector it stops. I switched cops and didn't change a thing.

Test the plug connecting to the #8 cop and not getting power. Also thinking my cam phasers might be going it's got the common "tick like a diesel"

Got the truck back together and it runs 100 times better but still sounds like a diesel. The popping has stopped and the misfire is gone also.
