Default 5.4 engine removal guide

I have been searching for a good resource on step by step how to remove a 5.4 from a 2006 F150, but I can't seem to find one. I don't have a lift so raising the cab off the chassis is out of the question. I do have access to an engine hoist. Anyone have any links or pdf's they can share to guide me? Thanks.

I wouldn't just take apart the front end. I would honestly remove ever single thing you can while it is in the truck. Intake needs to come off for sure or you will never get it out.

As long as you get that engine as small as you can you will be able to get it out just fine.

I was hoping for more detail from folks who actually performed this. Areas of concern are getting to the tranny/engine bolts. I can see them from the bottom but are there any up top and will I be able to get to the top ones once I take the intake mani off? Heck. I cant even get to that bolt that attaches the transmission dipstick tube to the back of the block on the back of the right head down low up against the firewall. I have torn the valve covers off already and the entire timing chain system. Radiator still in.

As in removing them?

If your intake is off they can be got to from the top. Otherwise you will need an extension. I used about a three foot extension with a swivel.

I thought you had to pull the cab off to get the motor out.
