5.4 3v v8 replacement
My truck needs a new engine so I wanting an engine that has add ons like bigger oil pump and better pistons with better HG. If you know of a good engine brand or set up please post it here.
Jasper engine $4,700 bigger oil pump w/ molly rings
stock $4,200
precision/ ict $ web site $4,000 actual cost $4,400 + $400 shipping both ways.
It is a bummer I wanted the ict one it had arp bolts and 10:1 compression
But when I called he was nice but not shooting straight with me. Other companies ship for free or much less and core charge is less.
Any suggestions appreciated

Im not sure about name brands but I had a new long block installed by ford in 2012 right after the oil spill in the gulf and I paid $5500 but I knew the service manager so if you can get it for the $4700 and works then that's a good deal IMO

The serv manager was actually on vacation and his fill-in wanted to charge me $10,000 + so I said go ahead and put it back together and I'll pick it up. This was due to my engine "hydro locking"

Thanks for the reply yeah that is pricey. I know a friend's mechanic who will do the labor for 1500 I just am looking for all engine options. I look at it as a performance opportunity and also to get away from stock issues. With that being said I am pretty stuck on getting cam phaser lockout and bigger oil pump. My cam phasers went out and I didn't know for a while. I heard sounds but I thought it was pulleys so I replaced the last one which was the tensioner pulley. The truck sounded bad and acted strange but it just so happened I had just had the trans repaired and thought it was that. By the time I knew it was an engine issue the oil was full of metal.
