Unhappy 5.4 3V misfiring

I just got a 06 f150 ext. cab fx4 with the 5.4 3 valve in it about a week ago, with 50,000 miles on it. I like the truck, but it stumbles and misfires when it downshifts to first or second gear when I try to pass or just get on it. I read a few posts about misfiring in these trucks, but I wonder if it is a spark or a fuel problem. It doesnt do it unless it is wide open. The check engine light comes on if I stay in it long enough. I AM going to take it back to the dealer I got it at, but any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Default Basics

I would try basics like the fuel filter, air filter, Clean the M.A.F. sensor! Throw some lucas fuel treatment in the tank! Try that for starters! Sounds like its not getting enough of something(air, fuel, spark) at WOT!

Sounds like a bad sparkplug coil to me. Thats what always seemed to happen to me on my 02.
