I don't really think that it is comparing apples to apples. The Super Duty is more heavy duty designed than a half-ton. Heavier components. I too agree what the 5.4 is underpowered in them, thought he V10's aren't too terrible on power in them, just poor mileage.

I can 2nd that, we had some ~'01 150's & 250's where I used to work. Both had the 5.4L, and you could tell the 150's had a lot more getup than the 250's, but the 250's obviously pulled the heavy trailers better.

Back to the OP, the mileage is really gonna depend on cab configuration, year and most of all, engine. (Same driving habits, route, etc)
