Default 5.4 with 117,000 miles?

S that too much to buy a used car for? I found an 05 f150 5.4 lariat with a small lift and it has 117k they are asking 14,999 for. Is that to much miles and overpriced?

JMO, but there's no way in hell I'd pay that much for an '05.

Overpriced for that many miles. I'd only consider that if it had under 60k miles.

That is too pricey. I found an 05 FX4 5.4 4x4 with all the goodies like leather sunroof and touchscreen radio work 95k miles for only $12k and it also has a 4.5 inch lift aftermarket rims and semi new toyo MTs

Yep agreed. I just payed $10k for my super crew 06 xlt. that was last year. it had 98k miles, plus I talked them into new tires and all the service work done. All fluids, and filters but more importantly, new spark plugs

You're not going to talk someone down enough to make that truck a good buy. It's overpriced by about 6K

It depends. Has the vehicle been serviced regularly over its life? Has costly/major service that may need to be done - for example timing belt (might be timing chain) - been done? Does the body or frame have any significant rust?

Mileage is only one factor to take into account (and whether it's stop and go or mostly highway). Age also wears things (belts, hoses, tires) that would need to be replaced at some point even if very low mileage. We have a relative's '99 Marquis with around 115,000 on it - and it's clear that the hoses and such are original. They should really be replaced.

KBB.com and other sites allow you to find out the value of a vehicle as well as the going price in your area.

Myself, I've kept vehicles as long as 15 years. I've not had mileage exceed 120,000, and found that by the time they hit 12 years or so they start to fall apart. 8 or 9 year old F-150 for $15k is ridiculous.
