Default 4x4 stock rear block height

I used the search and got a bunch of unrelated posts.....

What's the stock height for the rear blocks on a 4x4. I'm either thinking of doing a taller block, or adding a leaf. Preferences?

the block is 1 5/8" and anytime you can not go with a taller block is ideal.. so add a leaf

So do the AAL rather than a block? I have a 2.5" level going on, but want to keep a SLIGHT rake.

Blocks create axle wrap...maybe not smaller blocks so much.. you asked for Preferences.. mine is always leaf spring. If it were my truck I would add a leaf.

I appreciate the input! You've steered me wrong before. There's some pro comp springs for $100 or Zone for $115. I'll probably do those.

What's axel wrap?

What's axel wrap?
Axle wrap is the twisting motion of the axle housing when it reacts to torque from the engine during acceleration or braking force on deceleration. Wheel hop refers to the rapid up and down motion of the tires caused by Axle wrap. Axle hop is the term that refers to both axle wrap and wheel hop.

HAHAHA my bad. I was supposed to type NEVER steered me wrong. However, at that moment my dog jumped up and both paws landed right where it counts. So I dropped my phone, and just kept typing when I picked it up.

The taller the block the more likely you will create axle wrap.. but like I said 3" block is not extreme.. I will never add block height ... always spring... my preference

I think I'll go with the spring. Makes more sense and It'll help keep it from sagging when I'm towing the boats. I appreciate the input!
