Have you jacked it up to see if the cv shafts are engaging?. If they are. And you still don't have 4 wheel then the only other thin it could be is like you had mentioned and that would be transfer case related not allowing the front shaft to engage.

So it sounds like your on the right track.

Sorry for asking if you checked the other stuff again ... I just didn't see where you made mention of trying it all and wanted to make sure you didn't skip over any important things to check. Hope you get it figured out!

I see advanceautoparts.com shows 2 available brands for a new t-case motor for your truck. The cardone brand is $123.00 and the dorman brand is $186.00

I do all my shopping through that site and choose the "pick up in store" option at checkout (basically pay for it online and then head right into the store and pick my parts up. Why do I do this? DISCOUNTS!!!!!.

You can do the same unless of course they don't have the items in stock at any of your local stores. In which case you can just have it shipped to you instead.

But IF you do decide to do it this way and want to save some cash... Do this.

At the checkout where it says enter promo code... If your buying the $123.00 part... Type in code " TRT41 " (this will save you $40.00 off a $100.00 or more purchase). And if your buying the $186.00 part...use promo code " TRT30 " this gets you 30% off of any order which would save you $55.80 BUT they put a $50.00 max saving limit on orders. So you will only actually save $50.00. But that's still a good savings!.

Hope that helps you if you do I fact end up buying one. And maybe someone else reading this needs to buy some parts an can also put it to use!!!.

The link to the my thread I originally posted that I told you to give a read would have gave you the steps to check that and pinpoint the issue...like I said ,sounded more like an IWE or IWE solenoid rather than transfer case related.

That's why I was encouraging you to check out my thread and the links in the thread because it explains how the system works and what issues can be caused and how to diagnose (easiest way is to jack it up and pull the vac lines off the IWE an use a vacuum gauge/pump an pump it up to 7-11 inch lbs which should hold vacuum without leaking down and should also then diss engage the cv shaft. No vacuum to the IWE's =4x4. Vacuum to the IWE's =front cv shafts disengaged and only 2 wheel drive.
Glad that it sounds like you got it figured out though!
