Default 4x4 Concerns

although i am pretty mechanically incline, I don't know much about 4x4. when engaging my 04 FX4 into 4x4 Hi, at low speeds when i turn it stops my truck and takes a good amount of throttle to move it. is this normal or is it something i should have looked at by the dealer since i still have my warranty?

I don't know 4x4 either, but does it matter if you are in 4Low and 4Hi? Should you be in Low at Low Speeds or is it low torque? Not sure if this helps, just thought I would chime in since its somewhat related. Thanks!

4x4 hi is on the fly ...4x4 low you need to stop to engauge i personly like to stop ethier way i think a small amount of hesitation is normal but it will take more rpms to get u rolling in 4x4

When you engage into 4HI the front diff is now locked in providing power to the front tires. It is normal while turning to feel the tires grabing on dry pavement especialy. It is highly recommended to only engage the 4X4 when on slick or gravel surfaces. If not you have a good chance of blowing out a CV joint on a tight turn. It is going to take a considerable amount of throttle to move in 4X4 while turning than as in 2HI because the font diff is wanting to grab.
