The only difference is the gear ratio thats it. T case is always locked when every any 4wd range is selected.

Only times t case is not locked is in awd trucks. Like some newer harleys and limiteds.

Thanks. I recently read that very thing and the next time I get stuck (probably soon with all the snow we have on our lakes here) I'm definitely going to try that!

No its a locker. It locks the axle together.

If you have an open diff and are in 2wd and do a burnout you leave one black mark.

If you do the same thing with a locker you get 2 black marks.
