4wd low is not working

Remember, the truck needs to be in neutral or park to engage 4WD Low. You can't do it while it's in motion or in drive.

1. Put in neutral
2. Put in 4wd low
3. Release brake
4. If no light, put in reverse and back up a little
6. If still no light, put in drive and go forward a little
7. If still no light, drink beer and wonder what's wrong.

Does the lever go into position or will it not go into the correct position for 4lo?
If the lever won't go into 4lo, there is a chance the linkage is bent. Remember also, it's not a straight shot into 4lo, you have to pull back and to the right.
The body lift might have FUBAR'd the linkage.

same process for manual shift though. although on those i usually go straight into reverse after putting in in lowside and back up about 10-20 feet for a good solid engagement of the gears.
didnt see anything about a body lift so ya, im betting on linkage is probably fubared.
i wish i had manual shift 4wd on my truck and a cup of coffee, of to the gas station i go! swwwooosshhhhhh!
